Very nice hotel, great location, very friendly and helpful.
They said they would fix the water in the shower and they did not and my tall husband had to sit in the bath to shower.
Relaxing, comfortable stay, with restaurants nearby, from cheaper to expensive. Depends on the depth of your pocket!
I liked the hotel because it is so close to the sea. Lovely rooms and the view from the room are beautiful. Everybody was very friendly and helpful.
Location, attentive staff, comfort, total relaxation.
The location is amazing right in the centre if Villefranche sur mer. Each room has a lovely sea view which is unbeatable. The superior room wr had two balcinies where we had breakfast looking over the harbour. The staff were friendly and helpful.
The rooms are Tiny!! We stayed for just one night and lived out of a suitcase... Too small to be comfortable....
We loved it here - want to come back! Room with balcony overlooking the harbour, yachts . . . Staff were very welcoming and accommodating. Lots of activities close by - Cap Ferrat, shopping, restaurants, boat tours.
Fabulous location! Evenings spent in the cocktail bar overlooking the harbour - totally fabulous!
Small rooms overpriced and poor services.
Superb location on the waterfront. Our room was very nicely decorated with cloth material wall coverings instead of wallpaper. The view of the bay from the balcony was stunning. There is a good choice of restaurants around the hotel and along the waterfront although some were very expensive. 'Le Cosmo' next to the hotel served excellent food at reasonable prices. Welcome Hotel staff were very helpful. The train station is less than10 minutes walk along the quayside allowing easy travel to Nice, Monte Carlo etc.
If you have a car, parking in this part of Villefranche is expensive. The public parking 50 metres from the hotel is too expensive for overnight parking and we were told that it had just doubled its rates! We used the hotel car park - 25 Euros per day - but it only has 3/4 spaces.
The location of this hotel was excellent and the cabin suite was unique and worth paying the extra for the experience. The view from the balconies was stunning and breakfast on the balconies was worth the extra. The barman was very efficient and went out of his way to give excellent friendly service.
It would have been good if the hotel served food or snacks rather than just breakfast although there was no shortage of restaurants nearby.
This hotel is in a stunning location right on the sea front. You can watch the boats come and go from your balcony. I loved it and we will definitely go back there.
Our room was a bit on the small side but the balcony and the view made up for it.
The view to the sea. Plenty of restaurants in the area, also good connections with train and buses to Nice and other Cote D'Azur towns.
No local channels on TV - but with the view you may not need it.
It's position. The feel of the place was so relaxed. There were many excellent restaurants within yards and at one of them we saw Sally Jessy Raphael the US talk show host dining with her husband and friends! Nice is only two train stops away... the local beach is only a 10 minute walk away and the amazing medieval mountain village of Eze is very easy to get too. Villefranche can be quiet, especially on a Wednesday but at the weekend it's very lively and of course it's always busy when one or two cruise ships are anchored in the bay. We celebrated a special Anniversary and the staff were fantastic in helping with a few surprises for my wife, on the day!
The TV was just 5 french channels - An english SKY / CNN news type channel would have been good to have.
The location of the hotel was great and the view from the room was superb.
Parking was an expensive nightmare involving feeding meters and parking at some distance from the hotel. Guests should be advised to use the good public transport. My husband thought the hotel was expensive, but I didn't!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Welcome Hotel. The location is fabulous as are the views from the rooms with balcony overlooking the bay. Very charming town, ideal for walking tours and strolling along the water. Also a very convenient place for exploring neighboring Nice and Monte Carlo. The croissants served at breakfast were the best we had in France!
The only complaint -- and all the hotels we stayed in were the same -- they have done away with cover sheets on the bed so the only cover is the down comforter which gets very warm during the night and no other option for cover.
